Code of Conduct
Dunvant Under 14s Mixed Rugby
We aim to create an enjoyable environment for all juniors who wish to take part in rugby and social activities for the team.

We emphasise that children/young people have the right to be safe, secure and free from threat.

We acknowledge that children/young people have the right to be treated with respect and for their concerns to be listened to and acted upon.

We will ensure that junior members have specific programmes and facilities designated for them, with adequate supervision.

We have procedures in place to help any young person who requests help and support on a confidential basis, in issues relating to Child Protection.

We will ensure that staff and volunteers working with children/young people are aware of the WRU Code for Those Working with Children in Rugby.

We have put the following code of conduct together as we believe that this summarises what the game of rugby union should help instil in young people:

# Play because you want to do so, not to please coaches or parents.

# Work as hard for your team as for yourself - both will then benefit.

# Be a sportsman - win or lose - and recognise good play by all players on both teams.

# Remember that the goals of the game are to have fun, improve your skills and feel good.

# Control your emotions. Verbal or physical abuse of teammates, opponents, or match officials is unacceptable.

# Recognise and appreciate the efforts of coaches, parents, match officials and administrators in providing the opportunity for you to play the game and enjoy the rugby environment.
# Understand the values of loyalty and commitment to your team, teammates and adults who contribute to it.

# Players may not be selected to play a match if they have not attended the previous training session.

# Parents will be expected to be present at training sessions and matches.

# Notice of non-attendance must be given.

# Players will be expected to turn up on time for training and on match days.

# Players will be expected to play in different positions subject to the needs of the team.

# Players must respect referees, staff, coaches and volunteers at all times.

# Players must attend matches wearing team kit and polo shirts.

# Players are representing the club and must behave accordingly.

# Parents must respect the referees and coaches of both teams.

# Referees' and coaches' decisions must not be questioned.

# Parents must not enter the changing rooms before matches.
